The purpose of this panel discussion is to capture and underline the importance of asset performance in corporate and investor-led reporting around sustainability objectives. Transparency in reporting is now a key requirement on investment funds with reports focusing around environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. Many of the ‘E’ issues can be addresses using asset level reporting with multiple issue third-party certification schemes and this session will debate the power of these for sustainability improvement and asset operational efficiency. However, the key parameter is to understand the value that these schemes can bring to real estate and the uplift in yield and asset value that they can deliver. They are not a cost, but a benefit with a market value.
